TSG Resolute works actively in the appliance, lighting, automotive and the general industrial industries. We work with engineers in these industries to solve problems and to help build better products as efficiently as possible. TSG Resolute does this through expert experience in the following die cut materials: adhesives, bonding tapes, electrical insulators, thermal insulation, acoustical insulation, foams, cellular and solid rubber, thermal interface materials, brightness enhancement films, reflectors, plastic extrusions, and variety of different fiberglass or high temperature insulation materials.

EV (Electric Vehicles)

TSG Resolute provides die cut solutions for the EV (Electrical Vehicle) Market to solve “Thermal Runway”, “Thermal Management”, “Electrical Insulation”, and “Battery Assembly” challenges.

Thermal Runaway challenges vary depending on cell types and designs.  TSG provides solutions to prevent neighboring cells from the energy given off by a failed that can cause a thermal runaway situation.  This is done by using barrier materials above cell batteries, between cell batteries, underlid and between modules. These materials are fire retardant, thermal insulators and electrically insulators.  They have great arc and track resistance, low moisture absorption, and they can be die cut to almost any shape to fit the battery design.

  • 3M™ Flame Barrier Material FRB-NT– is an inorganic-based, halogen-free material. It features a UL 94 5VA flame rating (UL File E65069) and is available in various thicknesses, providing good dielectric strength. 3M FRB-NT provides excellent ignitability resistance, as well as excellent arc and track resistance. It is dimensionally stable (low moisture absorption and low shrinkage at high temperature).
  • Battery Compression Pads and Cushions-Microcellular Polyurethane cushioning between the battery cells helps with cell expansion. These materials  creates a very consistent level of force across a range of compressions.
  • ProCell™ EV Firewall these material delays thermal propagation in batteries. Can help to prevent thermal runaway in a small scale nail penetration testing.

Thermal Management materials for electric vehicles can help extend  the range and life of the battery.  These conformable and compressible materials fill the space between the battery pack lid and the gaps between batteries helping to keep the batteries temperature in an optimum range. This will reduce the draw from battery power required for cooling and minimize the warm up time for heating systems.

  • Cooling Plate Spring Pads- elastomeric springs to maintain close contract between the cooling plate and the battery.
  • Pouch Cell Pads- holds components in place while withstanding dimensional changes to the pouch cells.

Electrical Insulation-looking for a material with flexibility and dielectric strength, TSG offers a variety of different materials including that can be die cut for your design that include Polyproylene,  Polycarbonate, PET, Kapton, Thermavolt, FRB-NT.

Battery Assembly-3M double sided tapes are used for assembly.  They are excellent when bonding two different materials that have different thermal expansion rates.  VHB is extremely lightweight and has the ability to expand and contract while maintaining bond strength, along with the ability to permanently bond make it an ideal material for structural assembly of EV batteries.  They are easily die cut for ease of use.

  • Battery Housing Seal-Silicones seal out water, dust, and debris and provide protection over the lifetime of the battery.
  • Anti-Vibration Pads – vibrations need to be managed within the battery pack and between the pack and the vehicle.
  • 3M™VHB Bonding
  • Cell to Cell Bonding- Pressure Sensitive Adhesive for bonding cells together. A quick way to provide quick and strong structural integrity for the an EV Battery pack. Flame retardant and dielectric tapes are available for EV battery applications.

Appliance

TSG Resolute offers the broadest solutions and the widest range of materials for the appliance industry. Within the appliance industry, we find innovative ways to serve our customers. We have die cut materials for heat management solutions; we have also helped sealing and gasketing challenges by proper material selection; and we solve acoustic problems with insulation and vibration-dampening materials. TSG Resolute’s material selection is important to the quality of our work, and we offer tape and bonding solutions that create a streamlined look in the appliance, minimize labor, and create a stronger bond than welding or liquid adhesives.

TSG is a preferred provider within the automotive industry, as we offer limitless solutions and utilizes a broad range of materials to optimally work for our customers. Within the automotive industry we find solutions for heat management, either through insulation or via moving the heat via heat spreaders, we help with sealing and gasketing challenges by picking materials that meet OEM requirements and work in the application, and we solve acoustic problems such as road noise and vibration-related issues. TSG Resolute offers tape and bonding solutions, excellent when combining materials with different thermal expansion rates, that creates a streamlined look in the vehicle, minimizes labor, and creates a stronger bond than welding or liquid adhesives.

Lighting

TSG Resolute is the largest die cutter servicing the lighting industry. We provide die cut gasketing for waters seals, bug seals, light leaks, and bonding tapes. TSG Resolute die cuts diffuser films and thermal gap pads to work with demanding LED applications. We extruded acrylic profile lens and PVC light leak profiles, and we have the ability to add light diffuser films in line with our extrusion processes.

TSG Resolute is the largest die cutters in the Southeast. For the Construction industry, we provide die cut gasketing for waters seals and bug seals, bonding tapes for glass panel assembly, acoustical insulation for noise absorption, and foams for thermal barrier breaks in the metal building industry.

Transportation

TSG Resolute Die Cutting offers a wide range of silicone based cellular foams and solids for use in various rail interior applications including seals, gaskets, floor isolation pads, sound barrier, anti-vibration/rattle and seating cushions.

We use BISCO Silicones and they are manufactured to comply with EN 45545 requirements without the use of restricted toxic substances. The fire-resistant properties are inherent to the homogenous cell structure, eliminating the need for fire-block layers.

Applicable Materials

Medical

TSG Resolute Die Cutting provides innovative materials for the latest medical applications. From better sealing for medical device LCD screens, to laser diode cooling, to orthopedics, prosthetics, transdermal patches, and even full face shields and personal protective equipment, TSG Resolute engineers help designers create products with improved reliability and quality of patient care. We provide gasketing and sealing for medical devices. We use Rogers Poron for their Low compression set and low outgassing properties. The foams are ideal for applications in medical devices. Rogers Poron is also used in orthopedic and prosthetic applications, including custom orthotics, custom prefabricated orthotics, prosthetic padding and other bio-mechanical supports.
